How Muslims Celebrate: Joy with Purpose

Muslims celebrate life with joy, gratitude, and a deep connection to their faith. The two main celebrations are Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha. Both events are filled with prayer, charity, family gatherings, and festive meals.

Eid al-Fitr comes after the month of Ramadan. Muslims begin the day with a special prayer, greet each other with “Eid Mubarak,” and give Zakat al-Fitr to help the needy.

Eid al-Adha marks the spirit of sacrifice. After Eid prayer, Muslims sacrifice an animal (Qurbani) and share the meat with family, neighbors, and the poor.

Besides these, Muslims celebrate moments like weddings, births, and academic achievements in ways that reflect Islamic values: simplicity, thankfulness, and sharing happiness with others.
